Are these courses good for SD Real Estate Continuing Ed credits?

You bet! Each day will be good for required SDREC credits.

Are these courses good for SDHDA tax credit and HOME/HTF training requirements?

Of course! Attendees to the first 1.5 days will meet the SDHDA LIHTC training requirements. Attendees to the second 1.5 days will receive credit for HOME and HTF training.

Will SDHDA tax credit, HOME, and HTF staff be there?

Yes! This course is sponsored by SDHDA and staff will be on hand to participate in the discussion.

Do I have to be from South Dakota to benefit?

No! The programs discussed are federal. When SDHDA-specific rules are discussed, it will be very clear, and these items can provide a checklist of items to check with the other Agencies that monitor non-South Dakota properties. HOME and the National HTF particularly have a strong federal component and will definitely be suitable for anyone that has HOME or NHTF anywhere. We held seats for South Dakota housing professionals first, but there is room for more!

Is there lodging in the area?

Yes. The site of the training is a hotel with a variety of rooms. Additionally, there are several hotels in the immediate area and many in Sioux Falls within moderate driving distance. Below are some options within close driving distance from the site.

Is there parking at the training site?

Yes. There is free parking at the site for attendees of the training.

Are there places to eat in the area for lunch?

Yes. There are food options in the area. There will be light snacks during breaks. Lunch will be on your own. On the full day, the lunch break will be 90 minutes to assure that everyone can return in time for the afternoon session.

I need to pay by check or be invoiced. Is that possible?

Absolutely! We do offer super-convenient and secure credit card processing online, but you can certainly pay by check. Do the full days of both courses overlap?

The courses merge on this day. We have arranged to cover all of the topics that are common between tax credits, HOME, and the HTF on the full day. LIHTC specifics not applicable to HOME are covered on the first half-day and HOME and HTF specifics not applicable to the tax credits are covered on the morning of the last day. This allows for the most efficient use of class time and eliminates the repetition attendees would experience if they attended training sessions during separate weeks.

Will the HCCP tax credit exam be offered?

No. The focus of the tax credit portion of the session is very practical and the configuration does not support covering all of the advanced testable areas for the HCCP exam. We do have other offerings to support taking the HCCP exam online, though.

What if I register but cannot attend?

Please let us know as soon as possible HERE if you registered and are unable to attend. The value of unused registrations can be used for other Costello in-person or online training.
